3. Assemble the gratin
Preheat the oven to 200°C (gas mark 6-7).
Butter a gratin dish. Arrange the egg halves, cut side down.
Tear the slices of ham into pieces and distribute them around the eggs.
Cover generously with cheesy béchamel.
4. Finish and brown
Sprinkle the remaining grated cheese on top, then add a thin layer of breadcrumbs for extra crispiness.
Bake for 20 minutes, until the top is golden brown and browned.
