On September 10, 2025, conservative political activist Charlie Kirk was fatally shot while delivering a speech at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA, was participating in his “American Comeback Tour,” speaking to a crowd of approximately 3,000 people when a single long-range sniper shot struck him in the neck.
The attack occurred outdoors during a public event, and law enforcement determined that the shot came from a rooftop. Authorities later recovered a bolt-action rifle and released surveillance photos of a person of interest dressed in dark clothing and wearing a cap with a bald eagle and flag motif.
In the days following the shooting, a 22-year-old man named Tyler Robinson was arrested and charged with murder in connection with the assassination. Robinson had allegedly expressed strong opposition to Kirk’s ideological views and reportedly confessed to a family member.
