Aunt Jemima Will Return to Syrup Bottles in 2025, Quaker Oats Announced?

Social media users spread a rumor in late October 2024 that the Quaker Oats Co. had declared intentions to bring Aunt Jemima’s name and picture back to syrup bottles in 2025.

On October 20, for instance, the America’s Last Line of Defense Facebook page said (archived): “Boycotts work! According to Quaker, Aunt Jemima will return to syrup bottles in 2025.

But there isn’t any reliable proof to back up this assertion. In 2021, PepsiCo-owned Quaker Oats removed the Aunt Jemima brand and replaced.

It with the name and emblem of the Pearl Milling Company. A larger business initiative to eliminate racial stereotypes from branding included the decision.

As of early 2025, there have been no formal statements from Quaker Oats or PepsiCo about the Aunt Jemima name or image being used again.

Social media postings that are humorous or deceptive, particularly those from sites that are notorious for disseminating false information, seem to be the source of the rumor.
