Croissant French Toast Bake

Prepare the Croissants:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with 2 tablespoons of butter.
Tear the croissants into large pieces and place them evenly in the prepared baking dish.
Make the Custard:

In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs until well combined.
Add sugar, cinnamon, salt, and vanilla extract to the eggs. Whisk until the sugar has dissolved.
Gradually whisk in the heavy cream and milk until the custard is smooth.
Assemble and Bake:

Pour the custard evenly over the croissants in the baking dish. Gently press down on the croissants to help them absorb the custard.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.
Let the French Toast Bake cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Serve:

Cut into squares and serve warm. Enjoy with maple syrup, powdered sugar, fresh berries, or whipped cream.
Tips:
Using day-old croissants ensures they soak up the custard without becoming too soggy.
For extra flavor, add a touch of nutmeg or cardamom to the custard.
This French Toast Bake can be reheated in the microwave or oven.
Enjoy this delicious and easy-to-make breakfast treat!
