Step 1:
In a large skillet, fry the bacon over medium heat until crispy and browned.
Step 2:
Once crispy, remove the bacon from the skillet and place it on paper towels to drain. Then, crumble the bacon into pieces.
Step 3:
Add the minced garlic and cubed onion to the bacon fat in the skillet. Cook, stirring constantly, for about five minutes or until the garlic and onion are softened.
Step 4:
Next, add the cabbage to the skillet and continue cooking for another ten minutes or until it softens.
Step 5:
Sprinkle the bacon crumbs over the cabbage, then add water as needed (about 1/2 cup), salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika.
Step 6:
Stir the ingredients together, reduce the heat, and let it cook for a few more minutes, or until the liquid has evaporated, stirring occasionally.
Step 7:
Taste the dish and adjust the seasoning if necessary. Serve immediately. Note: If you’ve added carrots to the mixture, it will add a unique flavor to the dish.
Enjoy your meal!
