‘Holiday Hug in a Bowl’ is what we call it—every bite tastes like Christmas morning!

1 cup old-fashioned oats
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions
Place the sliced apples in a large bowl and toss with lemon juice, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well coated.
Transfer the apple mixture to the bottom of a slow cooker.
In another bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, melted butter, and salt. Stir until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the apples in the slow cooker.
Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
Once done, remove the lid and let it cool slightly before serving.
Variations & Tips
For a nutty twist, add 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans to the topping mixture. If you prefer a spicier flavor, increase the cinnamon to 1 1/2 teaspoons and add a pinch of ground cloves. For a gluten-free version, substitute the all-purpose flour with almond flour or a gluten-free flour blend. You can also experiment with different types of apples or even mix in some pears for a unique flavor profile.
