I thought my aunts’ recipe was lost forever, but guess what? I found it, and it’s tastier than I remembered.

1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until the beef is browned and the onion is tender. Season with salt and pepper. Drain any excess grease.
3. Spread the meat mixture evenly in a 9-inch pie plate.
4. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the meat mixture.
5. In a medium bowl, whisk together the Bisquick mix, milk, and eggs until well combined. Pour this mixture over the cheese and meat in the pie plate.
6. In a small bowl, mix the ketchup and mustard. Drizzle this over the top of the pie.
7. Bake for about 25 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
8. Allow the pie to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Variations & Tips
For a healthier twist, you can use ground turkey or chicken instead of beef. If you have picky eaters, consider hiding some finely chopped veggies like bell peppers or mushrooms in the meat mixture. Add a bit of zing by stirring in a small amount of Worcestershire sauce or hot sauce to the beef. To make it keto-friendly, swap the Bisquick mixture with an almond flour blend. And for a fun family night, let the kids top their slices with pickles, tomatoes, or even a dollop of their favorite burger sauce.
