For 1 cup of rice, use:
- 2 cups water
- 1 teaspoon oil or butter
- A pinch of salt
- 1 bay leaf or cinnamon stick
- A few drops of lemon juice
Steps:
- Rinse the rice well until the water runs clear.
- In a pot, bring the water to a boil with all the added ingredients.
- Add rice, stir once, reduce heat, and cover.
- Cook on low for 15 minutes (or as needed), then let it sit covered for 5 more minutes off heat.
