Air fried apple fries

Introduction:
Air Fryer Apple Fries are a fun and delicious twist on traditional fries, offering a sweet and crispy treat that’s perfect for dessert or as a snack. These apple fries are lightly coated in cinnamon sugar and then air-fried to a golden perfection. The air fryer method makes them healthier than deep-fried alternatives, while still keeping that satisfying crunch. Whether you’re craving something sweet or looking for a unique way to use apples, this recipe is sure to impress.

**Ingredients:**
– 2 medium apples (preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
– 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
– 1/4 cup cornstarch
– 1/4 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
– 1/4 cup sugar
– 1 egg
– 1 tablespoon milk
– 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
– Cooking spray (for greasing the air fryer basket)

Instructions:

1. Start by peeling and slicing the apples into thin strips (about 1/4 inch wide) to resemble fries.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, salt, and cinnamon. In another bowl, whisk the egg, milk, and vanilla extract until well combined.
3. Dip each apple slice into the egg mixture, then coat it in the flour mixture, pressing lightly to ensure the coating sticks.
4. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3 minutes.
5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Arrange the coated apple slices in a single layer in the basket, making sure they don’t overlap.
6. Air fry the apple fries at 375°F for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
7. While the apple fries are cooking, mix the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
8. Once the apple fries are ready, remove them from the air fryer and immediately toss them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture to coat.
