Introduction
Desserts in a cup are a versatile, elegant and practical idea to end a meal with a touch of sweetness. Perfect for surprising your guests or giving yourself a moment of pleasure, these desserts are suitable for any occasion, from formal dinners to informal afternoons. Thanks to their presentation in a cup, they combine aesthetics and taste, making them irresistible both to the eye and to the palate.
Ingredients
For a basic mascarpone and fruit cup (4 portions):
250 g mascarpone
150 ml fresh whipping cream
100 g icing sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Fresh fruit (strawberries, blueberries, kiwi or berries)
100 g dry biscuits (such as ladyfingers or digestive biscuits)
50 ml fruit juice or liqueur (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the creamy base:
In a bowl, combine the mascarpone, icing sugar and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth. Separately, whip the fresh cream and gently fold it into the mascarpone cream.
Prepare the crunchy base:
Crush the biscuits evenly. If you want a softer consistency, you can moisten them slightly with fruit juice or liqueur.
Assemble the cups:
On the bottom of each cup, arrange a layer of crumbled biscuits. Add a generous layer of mascarpone cream and complete with chopped fresh fruit. Repeat the layers until the cup is full.
Decorate:
Finish with a dollop of whipped cream, a dusting of cocoa or cinnamon, and a few mint leaves for a touch of color.
Serving and storage tips
Serving: Desserts in cups are even better if left to rest in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving. This allows the flavors to blend better.
Storing: You can store the cups in the refrigerator, well covered with cling film, for up to 2 days. Avoid adding the fruit too far in advance to keep it fresh and crunchy.
