Ingredients
1 lb thinly sliced beef steak (sirloin or round steak)
½ cup Worcestershire sauce
½ cup soy sauce
1 tbsp honey
1 tsp onion powder
½ tsp chili flakes (optional, or adjust for desired spice level)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Marinade
In a medium bowl, whisk together Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, honey, onion powder, and chili flakes (if using).
Step 2: Slice the Beef
Cut the beef into thin strips or squares, about ¼ inch thick, ensuring even thickness for consistent drying.
Step 3: Marinate the Beef
Add the beef strips to the marinade, making sure each piece is thoroughly coated.
Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 3 hours or overnight for the best flavor absorption.
Step 4: Dry the Beef
Remove the beef from the marinade and pat it dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
Step 5: Arrange in the Air Fryer
Place the beef strips in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overlapping to ensure even dehydration.
Step 6: Air Fry the Jerky
Set the air fryer to 210°F (100°C) and cook for 2 hours.
Check the jerky. If it’s not completely dried, continue to air fry in 15-20 minute intervals until fully dehydrated.
Use a meat thermometer to confirm the internal temperature of the jerky reaches 160°F (71°C) to ensure safety.
Step 7: Cool and Store
